A winner and a question

Thank you to all of you who entered the giveaway for the Teacher Appreciation set from Katygirl last week. If you were not the winner, I just saw on her blog (click her name above) that Katy is offering a 25% off coupon code for her shop right now, and she is even giving a print away for FREE with all $10+ purchases!

As for the giveaway here, on Saturday at noon, as promised, I listed out all the names according to the number of entries each person submitted. For instance, if you earned 6 entries, I listed your name 6 times in a row. Then I yelled to my husband in the next room to pick a number between 1 and the total number of names, which I don't recall at the moment. Somewhere in the 20s. He picked 18. And on my list, #18 was Angel Haynes! Congrats, friend! I will be contacting you for the name of the teacher you would like to bless so Katy can personalize your stationery and get it on it's way to you.

And now I have a question for you.

Since Google reader went away, how do you prefer to read blogs these days? Bloglovin'? Feedly? Via Facebook posts? Are there new blog readers I don't even know about? Do you prefer to get posts delivered to your email inbox? I'm just curious because I haven't ever read blogs on anything other than Blogger's provided reader on the Unfolding dashboard. But I don't think that's the norm. (Which is one reason why I removed the Blogger "Follow" box from my sidebar.)

I'm not great at changing with the technological times. I may have been the last person to use dial up, I've had an AOL email account for 12 years, and I still have an iPhone 4. So if you are cooler than I am and know of the latest and greatest ways to interact in the blog world, share the wealth please.

And enjoy your day! It's raining cats and dogs right now. That means the greatest MT wildflowers are on their way.

  3. I don't understand these platforms you speak of... I just have my own Google blog and in th template, I have a spot to list the Blogs I Follow, so I go to my own blog page and then see the blogs I follow in the margin and it puts the most recent ones posted on top. How else is there to do it? I'm curious??

  4. Leslie, i'm with you...i don't fully understand all these other things. i use wordpress, and i pay $26/year to have a .com after my blog rather than a wordpress.com. i typically follow people via email. i don't prefer the "feed burner" or whatever it is, because i don't usually know where to check it on my computer, or it isn't something i pay attention to. the bloglovin thing is awesome, because i only have to deal with ONE notification of blogs.....however, i am much less likely to keep up with those blog posts as i am the individual email ones. am i making any sense?

  6. ughhhhhhhh. i miss google reader so bad i cry about it. i still have the "next" button on my toolbar because i loved it so much. maybe i'll just have a moment of silence for google reader right now.

okay, i use bloglovin. i didn't love feedly. i like bloglovin although sometimes it takes longer than i would like it to for blogs to update on it. like i'll be checking facebook, see that someone posted, hop over to bloglovin and it won't be there yet. thats annoying to me because i have no patience. sighhhhh. #googlereaderovereverything

  8. Feedly. I have all the blogs I follow sorted into different categories; fashion, crafting, lifestyle, etc. there is feed demon as well. But I like feedly better. Both are free, but feedly is for tablets. Feed demon can be used on PC's. I loved google reader and was very angry when they stopped. I just thank The Lord blogger is still there! And free!

  9. Feedly! I tried both Bloglovin & Feedly for a bit; but found that Feedly is very streamlined and so simple to use.

  10. Hi Leslie! I was Google Reader, and I was thrown when they discontinued the feature. I switched to Feedly, and I couldn't be happier. Feedly all the way!
