Hi friends!
She asked if I might write about something for which I'm thankful.
My post turned out nothing like I'd planned.
But Jami's cool with it. Just one more reason I love her.
{Also you should follow her. She is one awesome, faith-filled girl. You'll love what she's bringing.}

ReplyDeleteHey, Leslie!
ReplyDeleteI loved reading your post and wanted to share with you the verse I use when I, too, battle those sleepless nights as fear, stress, and anxiety rear their ugly heads:
"In peace, I will both lie down and sleep, for you alone, O, Lord, make me dwell in safety." -Psalm 4:8
Thanks for sharing!

"He didn't want me to be reasonable. He wanted me to have faith." Hmmm.
ReplyDeletea lot of your story is mine. the not knowing how to manage fear (and lies). the darkness in marriage. the learning and battling, training self and family. all mine. it is good to read your story and be understood.
thank you.
a bit of my story. http://victoryrd.blogspot.com/2008/05/say-name-jesus.html
The opening paragraph of your post is uncanny in its similarity to mine. The fear, recurring nightmares, walking to the parents' room, sleeping in the brother's room. I remember one night the door to my parents' room was locked and I lay on the floor in the hallway and sobbed my heart out until my dad came and got me.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful that you are willing to share the pain and also the lessons that God has taught you through the process of learning to trust in him. I've conquered the night terrors, but I know the capacity is still in me to be afraid of the bigger darknesses in life. It is good for me to be reminded to turn my eyes to Jesus.
